Bears much fruit

Spring fever is in the air. You are ready for warmth, flowers, lush green new growth. Every gardener knows in early spring it’s essential to remove the decay with a substantial pruning essential to new growth.

We’ve been wandering through the wilderness and dealing with some heavy stuff. You say you need a breather so we’re taking a side trip. No worries, we’re not getting too far off course because the focus is important, but spring fever is in the air. We’ve got to get ready for growth, abundant growth.

John 15:1–2

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful”.

Everyone wants the beautiful flowers, the delicious tasting fruit on the vine, and seldom does a person want to do the hard work of clearing out the underbrush.

Remain in me, as I remain in you. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. No branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. If you do not remain in me… But, if you remain in me it will be done for you. It is glorious that you bear much fruit. Remain in my love.

Notice the pattern? Nine times over you grow when you are connected to the source of life. We are called to do one job… stay on the vine.

Check in often

Let’s break it down with a real-life example no one can miss. Don’t you feel disconnected when you aren’t on social media?

You feel the need, the rush of the beep, zing, alert notification and want to check in often. What if you checked in often, for short periods of time? It’s free. And, you are skeptical of free because every good telemarketer starts with “free” and draws you into some paid program. This one is free and it’s not too good to be true.

Check in often for some serious personality upgrades.

This fruit tastes delectable. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

The best part is you don’t have to wait for Spring. You can start today. How will you spring clean your mind and heart to get ready for growth? Tell us in the comments.
