What if today was my last day?
Carpe Diem’ is a phrase that I try to embrace. It means seize the day, to make the most of the present and to give little thought to the past or future. In the time that I have here, I want to love and live life to the fullest while being a positive influence on others. And I want a full life for everyone.

Nobody Wants To Talk About Death
Death can often be a tough thing for us to talk about. Not many people want to think about what they would do if today was their last day to be alive. You can count me as one of the people on the other side of that coin.
I think about death constantly.
Especially, these past few years as I’ve lost some close friends and family members. I often think about how finite life is.
I’m obsessed with living a life that I’m proud of, a life in which I’m confident I made an impact on people.
These days, I try to make that impact through my writing (and recently my Vlogs on LinkedIn too).
I also attempt to make an impact simply in the way I carry myself and in how I treat other people I come into contact with.
My parents raised me to be kind to others, show respect, be confident in my abilities, and always to try to do the right thing. Ah yes, doing the right thing.
The right thing…
That’s where the line starts to become gray for me sometimes.
Different Interpretations Of What It Means To Do The Right Thing
What does doing the right thing mean? It can mean different things to different people. For me, doing the right thing often relates to my commitment to creating valuable content for others to consume so that their lives can become enriched.
I’m committed to trying to build a better world around me but I’ve taken full responsibility that it’s up to me to build that type of a world. I can’t expect anyone else to do the work for me.
And that’s why I’ve been consistently writing on Medium since April 2018. It’s also why I’ve started posting Vlogs on my LinkedIn profile. Creating valuable content is a tough business but someones gotta do it. I’d like that someone to be me.
Utilizing the creative part of our brain is something most of us don’t get to do much of anymore. My day job doesn’t give me the opportunity to utilize my creativity at all and so here I am.
Trying to do the right thing.
I’m Becoming A Better Person
Something’s been happening to me lately as I’ve been creating all this content. I’m becoming more intelligent because of all the reading and research I’ve been doing.
I’ve learned countless new things about several new topics I never explored before until these past few months.
Learning about their life experiences has opened up my heart to the reality that people are absolutely fascinating.
You can’t judge a book by its cover, you have to flip through the pages and absorb the information, process it, meditate on it, and allow yourself the opportunity to truly understand it.
I’m fascinated by other people’s stories.
My mind is becoming more open. I’m starting to see the world differently and I’m loving it. Life is such a funny thing, none of us know what the hell we are doing here. Many of us think we have a plan for what our future is going to look like and yet none of our futures are even guaranteed.
The most comforting thing I can tell you is that you are here right now. You exist and you can choose to live your life however you want. Right this very second. Millions of people didn’t wake up this morning, but YOU did.
How are you going to make today count?
How are you going to impact the world?
What kind of content are you going to create and share with others?
