Satan is called the accuser of the brethren. He misuses and perverts God’s law to rob and condemn believers. He does so by making them feel disqualified of their rights and privileges in Christ. He also distorts the truth about how God feels and thinks about them. What many don’t know is that God stopped listening to accusations from Satan when he was kicked out of heaven (Luke 10:18). Only people hear his accusations and lies today. That is why as believers, we are told to give him no place (Ephesians 4:27). We are also instructed to “pull down strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Strongholds are thoughts, ideas, and beliefs that oppose the truth about God. The purpose of this article is intended to help pull down a stronghold that violates the character and nature of God.
Love keeps no record of wrongs
Let’s not forget that “Love keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Corinthians 13:5). God, who is love, also promised that He would never remember your sins (Hebrews 8:12). So why would Jesus have to remind God of the very thing God pledged to forget forever? Surely, Jesus knows that God promised us He would never ever remember our sins. In fact, it was Jesus who said He only does and say what He sees His Father doing. So, I reiterate that the religious idea of Jesus pleading our cases before an angry judge is without any biblical foundation at all. Actually, it denies the work Jesus accomplished on the cross.
The Power of God’s Mercy
When do you need mercy? After you have sinned. What is mercy? It is God treating us better than we deserve. Mercy also serves as a powerful spiritual force God uses to purge sin out of our hearts, “Love, mercy, and truth will purge sin from our hearts” (Proverbs 16:6). We all need His mercy in our lives as it has many powerful and life-changing attributes. Without mercy, we wouldn’t see a transformation in our lives.
The Devil is a Liar
The Devil is a liar, and Jesus is the truth, so who will you believe? The Enemy who uses God’s laws to condemn you or Jesus who did not come to condemn but is the truth that sets people free? The accuser will always toy with your emotions and mind trying to convince you that God is angry with you and is going to punish you for your sins. Whereas Jesus your advocate reminds you that He was the propitiation for all your sins. If you believe in Him, you will never be ashamed.
Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” (Romans 10:11).
