We have Linkin Park to thank for.

It’s easy to get lost in the storm of life. Simply because one thing happens that leads to another and so on.

It’s an endless chain of action-consequences. We gotta do that and this, we gotta go here and there. We are always on a run, we always stress out because we didn’t wake up at 6:00 AM or 5:00 AM because we are part of the “self-improvement family” (I made that up).

We worry that today we weren’t as productive as we should’ve been. I mean, c’mon for Christ’s sake, the task list isn’t even half completed.

“You should be ashamed of yourself!” —says your inner voice

Results, results and more results. We strive for them. We think about them. Wherever we go, we must achieve results. If it doesn’t produce any results, what’s the point right?

In the end…

How many times have you stopped and wondered about what you’re doing?

Or how many times you tried to be more aware of your actions and thoughts? What I’m about to say will probably make you think that I am depressed and I want to feel you the same: it’s exactly the opposite.

The popular band Linkin Park produced a song called “In The End”.

This song is mainly based on one person’s failure.

Its most possible meaning is that it’s about time wasted on trying to build a relationship with a girl who doesn’t want to be with you.

Additionally, there is a verse in the song that can give you a new perspective:

I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end, it doesn’t even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end, it doesn’t even matter

Let’s focus on the sentence that appears twice: “But in the end, it doesn’t even matter”. Let it sink in.

It doesn’t even matter…

Whatever is that you’re worrying, stressing about: it doesn’t matter. I’m not here to ruin your dreams and goals.

I want you to realize that no matter how hard you will break yourself to make it all work when you’ll die, it won’t matter. Maybe in the moment, it will matter, but beyond that, it will be meaningless.

Realizing this gives you more freedom. You can open yourself to the opportunities around you.

Why? Because your failure doesn’t matter. Because results don’t matter.

It’s always the process. The process through which you get to experience life is what matters. Your results, in the end, won’t matter, but your experiences will.

You are free to strive for anything because it simply doesn’t matter in the end. Everybody is free to act how they decide is right.

You can twist what I wrote however you want, but I truly believe that realizing this will allow you to worry less or to not worry at all, be yourself and live a life style you desire.

No matter where you are in life right now, enjoy the process.

Think. Do
Think. Do
