I’ve Compromised To Nothing

I stood open before you;
One could not have been more true.
But you didn’t want to see
Me.

To your tune, I danced and stripped
Off my skin.
I morphed into your dream; a nobody.

I gave in and passed out.
I compromised and finally died.

Now I’m ugly; a ghost maybe.
And for every thousand words I say,
Your grateful silence retorts: “Away from me!”

I wish I could find Me
And live again.

But there’s nothing left of Me.
I’m now your dream; this thing
Sitting at your feet.

What more do you need?
Speak and I’ll be,
Willingly.
I’ll makeup to your picky,
Until I can wake up to the true Me.
