Thoughts of a distant Shenandoah cabin

Tucked gently in its mountainside retreat,

Overlooking blue ridge mountain vistas

Calming presence in its hovering quietness.

Walking winding verdant forested trails

Discovering new hidden natural wonders,

Yearning to explore those trails again

Feeling peaceful serenity in my waiting.

So different from routinely harried urban life

With continual hustling amidst honking noises,

Observing anxiety etched lines on people’s faces

As they struggle frantically in myriad directions.

Pleasant tranquility in cabin’s near mystical seclusion

Nestled deep in ancient trees shrouding vibrant wildlife,

A welcome soothing balm for restless city spirits

Longing for Shenandoah blue ridge mountain vistas.
