There’s a story that I must tell
About a gypsy’s magic spell
And a life shot all to hell

For it was all a web of lies

A wealthy man desired a wife
A charming girl to share his strife
For his was not a happy life

As he lived in a web of lies

He found a girl so fair of face
Invited her to share his place
She declined to his disgrace

So started the web of lies

He called upon the gypsy queen
A haggard crone all bent and mean
Who set to work the magic scene

And brewed up a web of lies

Once he set the magic free
It was clear for him to see
That it was never meant to be

And entangled his web of lies

His fate was sealed that very day
For all alone he’d always stay
A steep and staggered price to pay

For the gypsy’s web of lies
