We all want to be perfect in some ways. I think it started in a school where we have been taught not to make any mistakes to get the best marks. We have competed with each other to please our teachers and parents. Then it continued with the expectations.

Friends, parents, strangers, bosses… everyone expects something from us. Certain results, behaviour, reaction.

I remember a couple of years ago when I tried to please everyone. And I did. I had an amazing job, friends, education and the chance to travel around the world. Everyone was so proud of me.

But deep inside I felt I am still missing out on something.

The thing is that perfection should never be the goal. Otherwise, the outcome will be always a failure.

Set the standards high. If you do not do it for yourself, no one else will. You should strive for progress but not perfection.

No one is perfect. We are all human beings and human beings make mistakes. This is who we are.

Do not be scared to make a mistake. Try new things. Yes, you fail sometimes. But then you learn. Do it again. Do it better. Failed again? Fine. Assess and then improve.

It is never a waste of time if you learn from your failures. Change the method but not the goal. You can call it self development.

Self-awareness is a great thing. It enables you to learn from your mistakes and set the direction right. You should bet on your strengths. Trust me, there are enough people out there who will point out on your weakness instead.

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you keep moving forward.

Everyone started somewhere. Want to be better at something? Work on it. Improvement is your personal choice. If you would like to stay where you are, that’s fine. On the other side, no one can stop you if you decide to level up.

Many people wait for the perfect moment to start. The truth is there is never a perfect moment. If you want to do something, do it now. You should strive for improvement, growth and understanding.

Think big and beyond yourself. Life is too short to settle for less.

By taking small steps every day, you will get there. You have to find something you believe in, and you will go beyond your limits. By doing it for yourself, not for others, the motivation will last.

Once you know WHY, you need to find out HOW. Then you work on finding your path and keep moving forward.

A little by little, you will get there.
